These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Project: Constellations Discord bot (the “Bot”), operated by the Project: Constellations team (“we”, “us”). By adding or using the Bot, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance & Eligibility
By adding the Bot to a Discord server, or by using any of its commands, you accept these Terms. You must be at least 13 years old and meet Discord’s minimum age requirement for your region, and you must comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. If you add the Bot on behalf of a server, you confirm you have permission to do so.
2. The Service
The Bot is a companion for the Project: Constellations community. Depending on how a server configures it, the Bot may:
- Link a member’s Discord account to their Patreon account and assign or reconcile supporter roles based on pledge tier;
- Post announcements, release notes, and server information to designated channels;
- Respond to staff and member commands (for example,
/ping,/version,/rules-post,/welcome-preview,/announce, and/dm-alerts); - Check for and post new mod releases (
/release-check); - Link your Discord account to your in-game Constellation account (
/link,/whoami).
Features are optional and may be enabled, disabled, or changed per server at any time.
3. Acceptable Use
When using the Bot, you agree not to:
- Abuse, harass, or spam the Bot, or automate requests to overload or disrupt it;
- Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Bot or its data;
- Use the Bot to violate Discord’s rules, Patreon’s rules, or any applicable law;
- Use the Bot to impersonate others or misrepresent your supporter status.
4. Availability & “As-Is”
The Bot is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Bot will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. The Bot may change, break, or be discontinued at any time without notice.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any data loss, service interruption, or harm arising from your use of the Bot — including outages or changes caused by Discord, Patreon, or other third parties.
6. Termination
You may stop using the Bot at any time and remove it from your server. We may restrict or terminate access to the Bot for any user or server that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is misusing the service.
7. Third-Party Services
The Bot depends on third-party platforms, including Discord and, where you connect it, Patreon. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies, which also apply.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be announced in the Project: Constellations Discord. Continuing to use the Bot after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
